O-6-107 Leaving Notes and Updates regarding Candidates in Dayforce Recruiting
π€ ROLE
Hiring Manager
π― PURPOSE
When the hiring manager is involved in the interviewing and selection process for a role, they will need to leave notes regarding interview updates, decline reasons, and any requests regarding a candidate in Dayforce.
These notes are used to communicate between the hiring manager, recruiting, and additional users by utilizing the tag β@β feature.
This process shows the steps for leaving notes on a candidateβs application and what information would be the most helpful to include for both their current application and any future applications.
π PROCESS
Viewing/Leaving Candidate Notes
- In Dayforce, logged in under the Manager Role, navigate to Recruiting and open the job requisition to view the candidate.

Click on the candidateβs name to view the application, then click Notes located in the top right.

- You will be able to see notes left by recruiting, hiring manager, and additional users.
- To leave a note, type it in the box and select Attach to: Candidate.

Be sure to tag Recruiter, hiring manager, and additional users (@Name) and tagged users will get an email notification to view the note.

What Information to Include/Post-Interview Notes
- After an interview is completed, upload the interview guide to Additional Documents. See process.
- Be sure to leave a note regarding a decision in a timely manner and tag recruiting and other additional users are as needed.
- If a candidate is not selected, include the reason behind that decision and whether the candidate should be considered in the future for another positions.
Examples of what to include in the Post-Interview note:
Reasons we are not making an offer:
- Communication or professionalism concerns during interview
- Not a good fit for field position
- Unable to meet driving/coverage area requirements
- Skills/experience do not match role requirements
- Limited availability
- Lack of home care experience
- Unable to meet desired pay
- Offered another candidate
Future Consideration:
- Willing to consider in the future or Not willing to consider in the future
- Might be a good fit for another type of role
- Willing to consider in the future with further experience/availability
