O-6-903 Pay Adjustment Types Tipsheet

This tipsheet describes the various types of pay adjustments that may be used within an employee's timesheet in Dayforce. The employee themselves does not have access to adding a pay adjustment; these are always added by management or payroll.

Time entries for employees who are on leave using FMLA or MLT will be handled by the payroll account manager. Managers do not need to make pay adjustment or Time Away From Work (TAFW) entries for these employees.  

NOTE: Pay adjustment types related to TAFW, Honor Hours Payout, or Paid Leave Time Payout will typically not be used, as the employee will submit requests for these items on their end without the need for a pay adjustment being used. The option of using a pay adjustment for these types of items would only be used by the manager or by payroll as an exception to the established employee process.

Award Honor Hours Awards the employee honor hours as entered by the manager (adds to employee’s Honor Hours accrual) - see process O-6-412 Award Honor Hours
FMLA –MLT Family Medical Leave of Absence – only used by payroll account manager
FMLA –PLT Family Medical Leave of Absence – only used by payroll account manager
FMLA Unpaid Family Medical Leave of Absence – only used by payroll account manager
Honor Hours Pay Out Gives the employee a payout of their accrued Honor Hours
MPFL-MLT Minnesota Pregnancy/Family Leave – only used by payroll account manager
MPFL-PLT Minnesota Pregnancy/Family Leave – only used by payroll account manager
MPLFL-Unpaid Minnesota Pregnancy/Family Leave – only used by payroll account manager
On-Call Used to enter On-Call pay see process O-6-402 Entry of On-Call Pay
Paid Leave Time Pay Out Gives the employee a payout of their accrued Paid Leave Time
PAID SUSPENSION Used for a paid suspension
UNEXCUSED ABSENCE Used for an unexcused absence
Unpaid Leave Used for unpaid TAFW for cases in which the employee does not have paid accruals remaining
WC Office Light Duty Used for work comp office light duty
Bereavement Used for bereavement pay
Bonus Pay Awards the employee the specific bonus amount entered - see process O-6-403 Award a Bonus
Holiday Used to manually add holiday pay for an employee in certain circumstances - see process O-6-405 Review and Entry of Holiday Pay in Timesheets
Honor Hours Time Off Uses Honor Hours accruals for TAFW
Jury Duty Used if employee has TAFW due to Jury Duty
Medical Leave Time Off Medical Leave Time (MLT) – only used by payroll account manager
Paid Leave Time Off Uses paid leave time accruals for TAFW
