🎯 Purpose

When a client shell is created in Forcura, it will kick off External Referral Request workflow in PointCare to add the client to the PointCare database. This process outlines the steps to process that initial task which will then move the client to “O-14-124 Process Pending Referral”.

🔄 Process

1. Select Review External Referral Request

   

   Select Review Referral Request to view information imported from Forcura

   

   1. Review Referral Attachments is optional at this step

      

2. Select Verify Referral Details to create new episode, associate to existing client, or re-admit a previous client

   

   If the system recognizes the same or similar client in the database, it will prompt the user to review potential patient matches for active and discharged clients

   

   1. If there is no matching client, select "Create Brand New Patient & Episode". This will create a new episode with a new/unique MRN

      

      If there is a matching client that is no longer active, review the status to determine if OK to Readmit

      

      1. Select "Use Selected Existing Patient" and "To accept this patient as a new referral" from dropdown

         

3. Select Approve Referral
